"Ron"

Sundance Square in Fort Worth is alive and exciting on weekend nights, even when it's still 92 degrees outside! Spent several minutes with this talented and friendly musician as he entertained us with some great music and conversation. Not three blocks from the infamous Bass Hall we found a much different type of entertainment, but one that was every bit as enjoyable.

Breaking Bounds Workshop

This past weekend I had the privilege of attending a 2-day workshop in Fort Worth by master photographer Alex Braverman called "Breaking the Bounds". It was a challenging, intense, thought-provoking time where we had a chance to examine our photographic vision and begin to learn how to create images with deeper meaning, interest and involvement for the viewer. This image is my attempt at creating a "sense of being" for the viewer, helping them feel as though they are "in" the image.

Lily Pads

On a stroll last night and found these large lily pads resting in the sunset light on the pond along the Bittern Marsh Trail at LLELA. Wouldn't it have been great to catch a big fat bullfrog sitting there? Not to be this night but it'll give me a reason to go back.

Our Favorite Pastime

Cameras in hand, we enjoy getting lost (not TOO lost though!) on roads less traveled, most of them being of the dirt variety. Wonder if that's where we messed up the alignment??

Graceful Flight

One of my very favorite subjects in nature - the white egrets and great blue heron that are in abundance near our river.

Sunset Grasses

One of the images from my Prairie Project. The sun setting behind the graceful grasses is one of my favorite scenes during a very peaceful evening on the prairie.

Another View of San Francisco

A cloudy, rainy day, but the heavy clouds added to the view.

Sunday, June 6, 2010

A view from near Coit Tower on Telegraph Hill in San Francisco, California. It was a cloudy, rainy day but we enjoyed the sights of the city anyway. So many wonderful sights in this beautiful city!

Unsung Heroes

One of my favorite subjects during a race is crew member athletes who work in all sorts of elements behind the scenes and in the shadows of the celebrity drivers.

One more fun sight along old Route 66 in New Mexico.

Route 66 New Mexico

The Blue Swallow Motel along Route 66, Tucumcari, New Mexico. Built in 1939 and still open for business.

Had a GREAT trip to San Francisco! Jumped off the interstate as much as possible and saw many fabulous sights in this wonderful country. Spent quite a bit of time on old Route 66 in New Mexico imagining what it would have been like to travel at a slower pace and experience these small towns along the route.
